Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna

Jeremias Altmann and Andreas Tanzer have been collaborating on their series grey time – a continually growing collection focused on decay – for a number of years. In 2018, they created the two-parted oil painting Bruchteile in the public galleries of the Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna. Across the galleries they paraphrased artworks from different periods. Displayed near one of the reference works in the Collection of Greek and Roman Antiquities, the paintings and accompanying photographs by Barbara Herbst encourage visitors to discover new and multifarious connections. On show from September 2019, the exhibition in Bildraum 01 offers an overview of grey time and thus a contextual extension.
